Laser treatments work by delivering a laser light that kills the bacteria responsible for the acne. Laser therapy effectively clears 70%-90% of moderate, inflammatory acne in four to six weeks. Results are especially impressive when compared with conventional treatments, such as topical creams and oral antibiotics. Laser treatments usually help control acne breakouts for four to eight months; after that, occasional touch ups may be necessary.

Some SKINovative^® locations use the COOLTOUCH^® Laser for reduction of active acne. The energy penetrates deep enough to shrink oil glands and decrease their capacity to produce acne. Treatments typically take 10 to 30 minutes, depending upon the area to be treated and the severity of the condition. Patients notice significant reduction of acne and improved appearance of acne scars. Results are usually achieved through a series of 3 to 6 treatments, although some results can be seen after just one treatment.
