| December 14, 2006 In the same upscale environment where serious Houston shoppers purchase $900 Prada handbags, $30 lipsticks and high-priced lobster lunches, they can also slip into a sleek new storefront called Skinovative and break for a BOTOX® injection or laser treatment. Skinovative Houston opens Friday, December 15th in the new Galleria 4, three doors down from Nordstrom. Once only available in doctors offices and behind-the-scenes spas, chemical peels, BOTOX® injections and non-surgical facelifts will now be as convenient as it is to buy a designer dress from Neimans or a diamond brooch from Tiffanys. Skinovative, is a chain of cosmetic laser treatment centers started in 2001 and based in Tempe, Arizona. Its a natural extension for upscale shoppers to find laser skin treatment services in a mall setting like Houstons Galleria, says Skinovative Galleria CEO Chris Bailey, who co-owns the new Houston franchise with wife Karen. A huge percentage of skin product purchases are made at department store beauty counters. The women who buy them are our target market people who want to look their best, says Bailey. The new Houston laser skin therapy center also treats men, he says. More and more Houston men see a clear benefit in laser skin therapy procedures and are tremendously pleased with the results. Karen Bailey says she expects the Houston Skinovative laser skin treatment center to attract more than 50 percent of its clients from walk-in traffic. We know there are many Houston women intrigued by the new developments in laser skin treatments and a shopping mall venue presents a ideal opportunity to learn more about them, she says. We welcome Houston and out of town shoppers who just want to ask questions or relax in our lobby and view our light box kiosks that explain our treatments. Karen Bailey, an attorney and former executive with a large Houston human resource outsourcing firm, says the centers door which opens into the mall is not a door at all, but an expansive mall entrance that invites shoppers to make themselves at home." She says models will take part in live demonstrations of various laser skin treatments on a monthly basis. Skinovative Houston is a licensed medical facility whose clinical staff is led by Chief Medical Officer Ken Hollis, MD, FACS, a Houston surgeon, and Medical Director Beth Kramer, RN, MSN, an advanced practice nurse practitioner.
